Where do we begin with our bios?
I’m having a difficult time defining who I am as a person. I’m sitting here looking at my social media bios and I cannot describe who I am, what I stand for, what I want to do for a living, and what I do for a living. We live in this world where the perception of who you are as a person is boiled down to one sentence.
I’m not going to lie, I’m all over the place. I work in marketing, I love telling stories, I act, I have a podcast, I love writing, but because I’m not consistent with anything… I cannot be grouped into one specific category of things. And, if you want to succeed in the world of the internet, people need to have an idea of how to describe you because at the end of the day, these definitions matter.
Oh my gosh. I think I’ve got it –
What I really love about writing here is the fact that it’s a way to clear my head… after writing for about 30 minutes, I just realized something that I find important. There are influencers who have made it clear how the world should define them. Then, there are influencers who leave a blanket statement and allow the work they publish to speak for themselves.
Forget a detailed Bio.
Let’s just focus on the work I want to produce.
The work I want to highlight.
The work I want to create.
Let the work define you…
Let what you do define you…
You can’t define yourself – the world will do that based on what you give them.
